Business owners Uwe Wullfen and Jess Holdsworth have brought together a lifetime of experience and knowledge in the organic food industry to bring Birtinya a brand new organic marketplace.
Uwe’s wealth of knowledge in the organic food industry extends back over 26 years ago, where he first set up an organic home delivery service based in Melbourne. Over the years he has managed and created a multitude of organic produce and product stores. Uwe assisted in the set up of the shop and fresh wholesale department of Kunara Organics, here on the Sunshine Coast and most recently has been the driving force behind BioShop at Belmondos Market in Noosa which has been operating for the last eight years.
Jess was blessed to grow up around nourishing food and organic farms, so organic, local and natural foods are just a part of who she is. Her first venture into the organic food industry was in Kiama where she saw a gap in the market to establish Heart and Sol Organics, a place where locals could buy organic products. Jess has extensive experience running her own retail businesses and over the last eight years has expanded into organic manufacturing and importing with her own organic food company, Love My Earth.
Together Uwe and Jess are leaders in the organic food industry and are proud to be working closely to bring the Sunshine Coast community the best organic, local and natural products.
The Greensmith refers to the maker, the grower, the creator. The name Greensmith Grocers pays tribute to the roots and fruits of labour from the team to bring a standard of real food to the people.
Jess said being able to bring Greensmith Grocers to life was a lifelong passion coming to fruition.
“We are excited to set the benchmark for real food with our product range. By providing the best organic, natural and local brands, we can support the community through their food journey,” Jess said.
“We’ve done all the hard work so the community can walk through our doors confidently and reassured that the food they take from the shelf is exactly what the label says it is. We are proud to offer a range that meets the needs of many community members with products that are certified organic, vegan friendly, gluten free, chemical free and label checked.”
Uwe said In addition supporting the community, supporting the growers and producers who work tirelessly to bring these products to market is another important piece of the ecosystem.
“We are excited to use our resources to support these stakeholders with marketplace feedback and mentorship,” Uwe said.
The launch of Greensmith Grocers is an exciting and welcomed addition to the Stockland precinct.
